Adding columns to existing Analysis Sets - Previous records

When currently adding a new column to an existing analysis set, it leaves it blank for previous records. It is not always desirable to open old records and fill in new column fields retroactively. It can also cause issues during audits by certification bodies or customers that they see old records being re-adjusted due to new column being added.
It would be great to have the option when a new column gets added to an existing analysis set to have the field added in previous records be blocked/marked with N/A or something similar.
