Stop button to stop a change process

Currently, the administrator does not have the option to stop a change process when the owner is out of circulation for a longer period of time and a delegate has not been appointed in advance for the document. We use SSO and therefore cannot reset the password. Is it possible that we as administrators get a stop button so that the document does not remain in the system unnecessarily long without anyone being able to do anything with it?
